Banda Sea - A Voyage To Remember
Bounded by the historical southern Spice Islands of the Moluccas, the Banda Sea spans a vast 470,000 square kms and can only be truly experienced by liveaboard. The North Banda Basin (5,800 metres deep) and the South Banda Basin (5,400 metres deep) are divided by a large volcanic ridge while Gunung Api, an active volcano, proudly rises from the sea in testament of Banda's deep ocean volcanic processes. The resulting crystal-clear waters and fringing tropical islands provide homes for spectacular coral reefs and exceptional displays of marine life. This includes breathtaking interactions with schooling Hammerhead Sharks and chance encounters with Spinner Dolphins and Orcas, while Blue, Pilot, and Humpback Whales follow their migratory paths.
